Sailing San Francisco Bay Area Sailing Charters
Sailing on San Francisco Bay is the perfect way to spend time with your group. Our trips are private, just you and your favorite people, and we always sail. We really know how to have fun and aim for “best day ever”. With us, you may take an active role in sailing the boat or sit back and enjoy the ride - you get to choose.
The following are a few of the many possible sailing charters. We can adjust any trip to include these options.
The Four Hour Cruise
Our most popular sailing option, this trip has everything you can imagine seeing on the bay.
Leave the dock and sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. Turn around and head back into San Francisco Bay passing the entire San Francisco waterfront - Crissy Field, Aquatic Park, Pier 39, the Ferry Building. Check out AT&T Park if there are any baseball fans on board. Cruise past Alcatraz Island and Angel Island. Sail back to the dock enjoying the sights.
Sunset Cruising
A short and beautiful evening on the bay. Leave the dock two and a half hours before sunset, cruise out towards the main bay and under the Golden Gate Bridge. Sail back towards home as the sun sets under the Golden Gate Bridge. See Alcatraz Island and Angel Island and Tiburon. Enjoy good food and drink to end the day.
Note, for the colder months, we may leave earlier.
The Three Hour Cruise
This trip is very similar to the four-hour trip with a slightly adjusted schedule. This is good for groups with a tight time frame, small children or elderly on board.
Leave the dock and sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. Turn around and head back into San Francisco Bay passing the entire San Francisco waterfront - Aquatic Park, Pier 39, the Ferry Building. Cruise past Alcatraz Island and Angel Island. Sail back to the dock enjoying the sights.
Angel Island Barbecue
We have been having a blast with our Angel Island barbecues. We sail over to Angel Island, enjoy the beautiful island, eat fantastic food, hike, see the great views, then top it off with a nice sail back. The most amazing day you can have. Our team will arrange barbecues from 10 - 40 people. We pay attention to the details and make sure the event is a total success.
Sam’s Anchor Café – Tiburon
We have arranged special permission from Sam’s Anchor Café in Tiburon to drop off and pick up groups from their waterfront dock. The food and views from Sam’s waterfront deck are great – combine a meal with a sailing trip for an unforgettable perfect day.
Harbor Porpoise & Seal Trips
We have been thrilled to see harbor porpoise returning to the San Francisco Bay during the last few years. These playful creatures are being seen in San Francisco Bay for the first time in over 60 years. We often see them out past the Golden Gate Bridge and sometimes they get close enough that we can hear them exhale “whoosh”. Harbor Seals are also frequently seen on our trips!
Ocean Sailing
Sail out under the Golden Gate Bridge. Continue out into the Pacific Ocean and sail up the coast past Point Bonita, Fort Cronkite, and Tennessee Valley Beach to Muir Beach. Depending on the time of year you may see dolphins, whales, seals, and lots of shore birds. Return along the coast line and back under the Golden Gate Bridge. Truly experience ocean sailing on a custom- ocean yacht. Perfect for those who want outdoor adventure. Good for 1-6 passengers on our 50’ Santa Cruz yacht, Bay Wolf.
Sailing Lessons
Sailing lessons can be included as part of any of the sailing trips. Because this is a private charter, we tailor the lesson to your skill level. We teach from beginner to advanced with highly skilled teachers/ captains.
