Corporate Team Building Events

We have years of experience with corporate sailing events. We will tailor your sailing event to the needs of your team:

  • We can organize a tightly structured "team building" event or provide a less structured event. Both type of events allow your team to enjoy themselves and spend quality time together away from the stresses of the office.
  • Sailing on San Francisco Bay is an excellent way to build all aspects of your team.
  • A perfect way to strengthen relationships with key clients.
  • We can arrange Corporate Sailing Charters for parties of 6 to 60 - call us to discuss.
  • We have two fast, performance racing boats. It is much more fun to sail on fast boats that are well-maintained, responsive and designed to win.
  • Bay Wolf (Santa Cruz 50) is available for groups up to 25 passengers.
  • San Francisco Pickup - We can arrange to pick up and drop off at Pier 40 in San Francisco - call us for details

Bay Wolf - Team Challenge

We are thrilled with how well Bay Wolf (our Santa Cruz 50) is working for Corporate team-building events. The boat is spacious, fast, comfortable and a total blast to sail. There is no better boat on San Francisco Bay. One recent CEO (May 2010) was so impressed with the trip for his senior management, that he booked the boat 2 days later for another trip and booked a 3rd trip for July 2010. All three trips were events to remember.

Angel Island Barbeque

We can arrange a team-building sailing event that concludes with a barbeque on Angel Island. We recently completed a 3-boat event for a Swedish medical company and it was wonderful We had great sailing, excellent food and a wine-tasting on the island. Call us if you are interested in a Angel Island Barbeque.

Our Corporate Team Building events focus on Communication, Problem Solving and Team Competition:

  • Communication:

San Francisco sailing builds effective communication. We will train each team member in different positions (trimming sails, steering, calling tactics, etc). Then we will change positions to let everyone have a chance at the different positions. The crew members' have fun while learning new skills. Captain Kirk is an excellent instructor with very effective teaching and sailing skills. His enthusiasm for sailing will help the team enjoy the day.

  • Problem Solving:

As the team develops an understanding of the boat we may begin drills such as Man-overboard drills. In the case of the MOB drill, the team must retrieve a float dropped into the water with the boat under sail. This is a difficult task and often requires several attempts. Effective communication and problem solving are required.

  • Team Competition:

Once the crew has learned some skills, then we go looking for other boats to race. For events of two boats or more, the final task is a race across the Bay. Flying Tiger and Baywolf are both fast boast and we often catch and pass other boats.

We can arrange a tightly structured event with serious team-building race, or a more relaxed event that allows people to simply enjoy the scenery. On all trips everyone gets an opportunity to sail the boats. Both Captain Brian and Captain Kirk are experienced sailing instructors and we can teach anyone to sail.

Benefits: The benefits of effective communication and problem-solving are important to all teams. Sailing "Flying Tiger" and "Bay Wolf"" on San Francisco Bay is an excellent way to strengthen your existing team. Some of the less obvious benefits include time to develop effective personal connections with team members. Many times during the sailing and discussions, team members find a common connection with a team member that never surfaces in the workplace. These bonds are important.

Enjoy sailing a fast racing yacht and also improve your team.
